most of the time, cons are a very supportive environment in my experience BUT like any event with a ton of people, there’s potential for safety issues (especially if you’re already vulnerable) and unfortunately there are creeps at cons. it’s been about 10 years since i went to my first con (i very rarely go to cons now though) and i’ve gathered various pieces of advice about staying safe that people should keep in mind (especially if it’s your first few cons and you’re worried) 🕷️🩷 stay with a group (at least one person) wherever you can if you’re not super experienced with cons 🕷️🩷 organise a place to meet if you get separated from your people (phone service usually sucks so sometimes contacting people isn’t possible) 🕷️🩷 make sure to plan your travel (and backup plans for getting home in case there’s an issue with your plan A) 🕷️🩷 don’t go back to random peoples hotel rooms even if they seem nice 🕷️🩷 don’t be afraid to ask other cosplayers for help if there’s an kind of safety issue, a lot of the time people will be more than happy to help/stay with you until you get help if they can 🕷️🩷 be careful with drinks at afterparties, get drink covers and never leave a drink unattended 🕷️🩷 make a scene if you need to and don’t be afraid to get security involved 🕷️🩷 personal preference but if i’m wearing a more revealing cosplay i’ll bring a hoodie to wear to travel to/from the con (especially if im travelling late) - - 🔑 cosplay community cosplay tips for beginners cosplay advice for beginners convention tips convention advice comic con tips comic con advice #sandronecosplay #genshincosplay #GenshinImpact #genshininpactcosplay #sandronegenshin
