1st. He was NOT glued to his phone 2nd. The hole isn't covered, barricaded or boarded so anyone could have easily made the same mistake.

u know the funny part is that he wasnt even "glued" to the phone, he lit looks at the phone for like 1 sec before falling, the rest of the time he is looking at his surroundings, like yes he should have seen the hole but even if the phone wasnt there he wouldnt have seen it

safety at construction sites is of utmost important. There used to be a dedicated division with the old Ministry of Labour / Human Resources, which was to monitor this particular matter. Don't know what happened to it now.

Him being on the phone is not the issue and totally putting the onus on the wrong person. The design is very misleading and easy to see how it could be mistake as a walkable space
