I had two very different facial treatments last month and I wanted to share them together because they represent two approaches to skin that I genuinely believe can (and should) coexist. First was the @Kama Ayurveda facial with the incredible facialist @Katieenglandskin at @thenomadhotel which I loved. This treatment is deeply rooted in traditional massage techniques, ritual, and touch, combined with Ayurvedic formulations that really speak to my South Asian heritage. One of the hero elements is Kumkumadi, which contains saffron and it takes hundreds of saffron flowers to create just a small amount. That level of care, time, and intention really stayed with me. The facial massage itself was brilliant; sculpting, grounding, and calming and reminded me how powerful traditional practices can be when they are honoured and done beautifully. Then came @Dermalogica UK LuminFusion, a facial I have been having for a couple of years now. This one is all about brightening, refining texture, and boosting radiance. It’s results-driven, clinical, and brilliant when your skin needs that extra glow and polish. They’re completely different, but that’s exactly why I love both. As someone who works in beauty and has been immersed in this industry for years, facials are something I do regularly. Not because I’m chasing perfection, but because consistency really does make a difference. You will find many of the treatments I have loved saved in my Treatments highlights. With so many aesthetic options available now (which I fully respect and do have Ultherapy 12-18months, a non-invasive skin tightening treatment), I personally believe the long-term magic comes from consistency, great skincare, regular skin treatments, movement, nourishment, rest, and feeding the skin from the inside out. There’s no shortcut for that. This is the philosophy I stand by, both personally and as the founder of the @southasianbeautycollective. Honouring tradition, embracing innovation, and choosing what genuinely works for you 🤍 These treatments were kindly gifted with no obligation to post, however they are exactly the kind of treatments I would happily invest in myself.
