One of the greatest gifts God has given me in this season is discernment. Not the ability to judge people. The ability to recognize what aligns and what doesn’t. As I’ve grown, I’ve learned that not everyone who has access to you is assigned to you. Not everyone who supports you is for you. And not everyone who challenges you is against you. Discernment has taught me to pay attention to patterns instead of promises. To watch actions instead of listening to words. To stop forcing connections that require me to shrink, compromise my values, or ignore what God is showing me. If you’re trying to protect your purpose, here are a few things I’ve learned: ✨ Pay attention to how people respond when you start growing. ✨ Notice who celebrates your progress and who competes with it. ✨ Stop explaining your boundaries to people committed to misunderstanding them. ✨ Don’t ignore red flags just because someone has potential. ✨ Ask God for confirmation before giving people access to your heart, your mind, your business, or your vision. The enemy doesn’t always show up as destruction. Sometimes he shows up as distraction. Sometimes he shows up as confusion. Sometimes he shows up through people who pull you away from the very things God is calling you toward. I’m proud of the woman I’m becoming. Not because I’ve arrived, but because I’ve learned to trust God’s direction more than other people’s opinions. And when God starts calling you higher, you’ll discover that discernment isn’t about learning who to chase. It’s about learning who not to follow. #fyp #discernment #houstonhairstylist #womensupportingwomen
