@allthings.caitlin: The GPs are not listening anymore.. I have tried everything I can try apart from medication such as Spiro because they won’t prescribe it. Dermatology want to give me laser, which I’ve tried with no affect (and I have tried multiple laser machines). Has anyone tried Slynd? Specifically with a mirena coil? I like the coil and it’s not settled my symptoms and I do not want to mess about with that right now. I have had no bloods done in 2 years and can’t ever get an appointment with the same Dr. Any help is grateful! #pcos #pmos #slynd #hirsutism #facialhair
I’m in the same boat… tried everything! Laser didn’t work nor did the million options from the doctors…Still shaving everyday 😫

Best thing you can do is get a glp-1 to manage blood sugar, manage diet as best you can because you need your blood sugar and androgens stable. Continue with electrolysis because once youve developed the facial hair and its physially there, nothing but laser or electrolysis will make it go away, it won't go on its own. Laser too risky for pcos due to paradoxical hypertrichosis but yeh you need permanent hair removal to get rid of the hair growth that has already occurred and the blood sugar/androgen management to prevent further hair growth

I'm on the desogestrel and doesn't help, I'm currently going through laser with the NHS and it has reduced it a bit but I'm halfway through my round of the laser with the NHS as they give you 6 sessions and I dont think the 6 are going to clear it as much as they thought. there's definitely not enough treatments out there for us ladies x

Vaniqua cream is shite don’t bother! I paid £70 for one tube then about three years they approved it on prescription. Both times I got acne and mad amounts of ingrowing hairs. I had 10 sessions of laser which cost me £500, made it much worse! Now I’ve been paying for electrolysis for four years and it is NOT clearing it just doesn’t feel as thick. Nothing ever shifts it and I don’t bother with the GP anymore, they’re useless. I’ve now bought spearmint capsules which I’m going to try. Previously had the strongest ones and they hurt my stomach so now I’ve bought half strength ones. Good luck, I think we have to accept we’re gonna have beards in a few years 🥺
