The more they "other" people who are not like them, the smaller their group and subsequently their world, becomes. Then when a person realizes they fit under one of their new, ever evolving "other" labels, (even though they bought in early and completely to the group), they melt down. Then, they either hide, or rebel. Case in point for the latter....MTG... Case in point for the former? Every MAGA individual they personally know who suddenly no longer post their beliefs on social media.
