Here’s what I’ve learnt about personal style and growth in 7 years. It’s mad looking back at how much my dress sense has changed. Like my preferences at 26/27 compared to now at 34 are insane but it’s a part of growing up. Going from wearing anything together to a wardrobe built around certain outfits and coming full circle to a curated wardrobe that all goes together whilst actually expressing what I enjoy in life and making it personal. It’s been a learning curve and a half and lots of money wasted and well spent in the process. I see creators desperately struggling to find their “personal style” and seperate themselves from everyone, but everyone ends up looking the same in most aspects because there’s so much influence and trends about. But in reality you don’t ever really have a full personal style, you have peices that are a signature to you that people will relate, but that’ll always change and you’ll find something new. My advice would be is just trust the process, mix your wardrobe together, avoid the trends, follow that cool guy/girl with the small account cos you’ll learn way more from them and don’t over consume, enjoy what you own. Anyway, have fun with it and that.
