alot of people, like me probably, aren't gonna bother or can't be arsed with the huge line that's ultimately going to happen once this kicks in. I guess that was Japan's ultimate plan after all.

how about the shoes? if it gets removed from the shoebox, is the tax refund void?

Man that’s so dumb it just makes everything way more cumbersome for no reason boutta be infinite lines at the airport for those kiosks. Plus I’m sure most people would rather have the extra money During the once in a blue moon starry eyed Japan trip to buy more stuff. What’s the point of gettin it back after u leave. Especially if ur just gonna go back to working a week later. I guess if u couldn’t get the time off at work and had little enough responsibilities to be able to quit bringing back a few dozen bucks Aint bad. But still what’s the point of the change?

the tax free thingy was so unnecessary, in shibuya 109 i got a refund of 300yen while i spent A LOT… i stopped claiming the tax refund bc the wasted time is not worth it

yana（╹◡╹）♡ :
how will they check the thing with the receipts though? like not having one item that’s listed on the receipt and then the whole thing cannot be refunded? will they check every single item in the luggage of every single passenger passing through the airport? thats so unrealistic
