@ethans_earth: Most lawns aren't much use for wildlife. Monoculture grass lawns don't offer much ecologically, and often rely on pesticides and artifical fertilisers for their management. We’ve lost a staggering 97% of our species-rich meadows in the UK since the early 20th century, but our gardens give us an opportunity to put some of that habitat back. And you don’t need to dig up your whole lawn to do it either - overseeding with things like clover and native perennial wildflowers into the grass gives bees and other insects something to actually feed on, increases the diversity of plants in your garden and can make your lawn more resilient to dry weather.
