@khanjicyber: This is exactly what law enforcement can see when they extract your phone, EXTENDED EDITION. If you thought Flock cameras were bad, this is what ICE, CBP, the FBI and police around the world can pull off the phone in your pocket. We plugged the phone in before first unlock, fully powered off with the PIN never entered, the most hardened state a phone can be in, and a six digit PIN was still no match for the tool. Then everything comes out: documents, a timeline of every time the phone was used, messages including deleted ones, deleted images, autofill, Wi-Fi passwords, the full gallery, Bluetooth devices, search history, browser tabs, notes, health data, calendar. The one thing that changes the game is an alphanumeric passcode. Letters, numbers and symbols turn a five minute job into weeks, months or never. Encrypted messaging apps and password managers are a different story and get their own video. Two videos coming next: what happens when you plug in an iPhone in Lockdown Mode, and a live demo of how they actually crack the PIN. Follow so you don't miss either.

All of this should be illegal. There should be no possibility of anyone hacking your device.

There is no known app right now that can pull data from a locked iPhone on latest iOS as long as you’ve disabled recovery options like through Apple ID.

that's why I never travel without my lockup app . LockUp is an Android app (created by security researcher Matt Bergin / KoreLogic and presented at Black Hat Asia) designed specifically to detect when forensic data-extraction tools—especially Cellebrite UFED and similar “imaging” software used by law enforcement or others—are trying to pull data off the phone. When it detects the characteristic code, files, certificates, or behavior of those tools being installed or run, it immediately triggers an irreversible factory reset / full data wipe via Android’s Device Admin APIs
