I wouldn't compare it to pirates. I'd compare it to Gladiator, a bit more of the same grand feel (kind of?) and I do like Gladiator better. I liked Odyssey, but it's not a masterpiece in my book

Films like POTC are a lost art, the CGI holds well and the cast is such a great blend while they balance heavy topics mixed with humour. I wrote about the trilogy (the ones past this fall flat and became stereotypical and lost the charm) in my film degree it was amazing to analyse

you can prefer a big Mac to a dinner at a Michelin star restaurant. but you can't say it's better food and it's not even a conversation. are maroon 5 better than tchsikovky? is Matt groening better than carivagio? I'm sure we can find people who would argue they are, and they all need locked up along with anyone who thinks pirates vs odyssey is even a debate.

Here’s me who absolutely love at worlds end 😳 I love the first 3 POTC but at worlds end takes it for me. But I do think the odyssey clears them all

Dang I disagree ! The moment when will & big liz say goodbye on the beach is the closest representation of real love n yearning I’ve ever seen in cinema (but I do have like 3 pirate tattoos so I will die on that hill) 🏴☠️
