You are right, that's why African greetings emphasizes the existence of humanity, before we can talk we great this way: Saubona, [isiZulu] meaning I see you, I recognize you, and Dumela [Setswana] meaning agree that I see you [Okae] emphasis of your presence, meaning Where are you, or are you here..Not everyone that is present, exist. So our greetings aknowladges the presence and the existence of a person, that's what we call "Botho or uBunto" thanx for clarifying the condescending undertone of that phrase " I do not see colour"
