@robynhoskin: What if medical misogyny & negligence were not normalising the suffering or women?😔💛🥹 I, quite literally, would not have progressed to these levels of disease & complications, if I wasn’t medically neglected. And, I am one of millions.😖🎗️💪🏽 #endometriosis #endowarrior #adenomyosis #womenshealth #hormonehealth

I’ve been following your journey, and gosh, you’ve been through such a tough time. I really hope you know how strong you are. You will get through this, and you will come out the other side. ❤️After my laparoscopy, it took me a good week before I could even stand properly and shuffle around the house. I needed a walking stick, and it was around 10 days before I could manage to walk up my road. I ended up needing six weeks off work, followed by two weeks of a phased return and light duties. Even after that, I still wasn’t right, and I needed Occupational Health support put in place. I’ve only just started getting back into proper weight training, and it’s been a year and a half since my surgery. The surgery completely changed my life after a 20-year fight for a diagnosis, but the recovery has been such a long road. I also have adenomyosis, pelvic congestion, May-Thurner syndrome, vascular issues and sacral endometriosis. My bowel was also shaved during surgery, so I’ve really struggled with bowel issues too. I’m 40 and have never been able to have children, so there’s been a lot to process physically and emotionally. Around four weeks after my surgery, the pain in my left leg became so severe that I was convinced I had a blood clot. My specialist explained that with pelvic congestion, you can experience flares where the pressure can affect your nerves and veins and cause some really awful pain. Since my operation, I’ve actually experienced similar episodes every couple of months. I just wanted to share my experience because I remember how frightening and overwhelming that recovery period was. Be kind to yourself and give your body the time it needs. Recovery isn’t always a straight line, and it can take so much longer than you expect. You’re doing amazingly, even if it doesn’t feel that way right now. ❤️
