Not all are useless. Bullish engulfing in m1 is sometimes liquidity sweep if you check m5 timeframe.

You don't trade them without other techninal analysis. Supposedly, you identify a support level in you analysis and you expecting to buy there. if an engulfing bar occurs, or a bullish pin bar occurs, it's a really good signal to enter the trade and wait for the market to decide the direction
