@cottageharborhomes: Let's talk plastic blowmold pumpkin pails.. These pails first came into popularity during the mid 20th century and have been manufactured ever since. I want to point out how to tell the difference between Vintage vs. modern because for those who don't know, it can be tricky! Here's how! 1. The handles on vintage pails are usually thicker and often times connected with metal "screws". Modern pails don't have the screws and their handles are usually skinny. 2. Check the bottom! Sometimes you might get lucky with a year stamped on there. Other times you may see "made in the USA" (some vintage pails were made elsewhere too so still look for other details to confirm). Look for the company names: Empire, Union, General Foam, and my favorite AJ Renzi. (His were often embossed on the back) 3. Texture of the pail itself. Vintage pails often have a texture to the plastic. Modern pails are usually very smooth. 4. Faces on older pails were mostly air brushed, so they are imperfect. Modern pail faces are much more perfect appearing. Hope that helps.. happy haunting!!! #vintagehalloween #vintagepumpkinpails #thriftedfinds
