You know what would be a plot twist ? If they find out that there were other ways but Strange chose that one because its the one where Tony dies and he doesnt become Doom. (I know its not possible but still, it would have given it weight)

Strange answered the question of if there was another way already. He told Tony he looked at billions of possibilities and only 1 came out where we won. The way things played out was the only scenario he saw that was a winner. Now granted for those deeper thinkers , he was looking for outcomes to defeat Thanos. The answer could have another infinite time loop. Same as Doramamo, An enemy you can never defeat but you can keep them from accomplishing their goals forever.

Just my thoughts, the reason Strange joined Doom was because he's sick of fate and is trying to defy it "I wish it didn't have to be this way...screw it...I'll make it so it doesn't have to be this way, no matter what"

Strange only had the one path becuase the universe would've gotten pruned if he made any other choice. Only after Loki became god of time would strange be able to see another possibility. I think marvels writing is still really good.
