in old days the image on fluoro so dim the flouro room had to be dark af. like black hole, to be able to see image. rads would wear red goggles when walking around the hospital and not in fluoro so eyes would always stay adjusted to darkness. eventually the image intensifier on fluoro towers made their use unnecessary .
