I swear I use the same 5 nodes for 90% of my 3D work. These stylised visual effects are no different. But the difficult thing about them isn’t technical, it’s getting the timing and colours right. When it comes to that, I’m a rookie. If you want a real masterclass check out @arthurmunozanimation All of my experiments so far use either a noise or voronoi texture. I’ve stopped animating the W input on 4D textures altogether in favour of the mapping node (location is especially useful) - It’s much cheaper and translates better to game engines. or so I’m learning. I’ve also started to lean toward ‘less is more’ for individual materials while layering effects is where you make all the difference.
