I look away from most people, but then I worry if disabled people are gonna think I’m ableist for avoiding eye contact with them, so then I look at them and I worry if I’m coming off as rude and seem like I’m staring. This is an endless cycle. Sometimes it happens with other things too

"Do you want to be treated well or like everyone else?" I've asked this question before to people that I know well. I'm not asking to be disrespectful but sometimes all people want is to be treated like a person. not assisted or treated special. I've had a few people thank me for being direct and following through on answer. definitely won't work for everyone though
