I was a tiler and plasterer at 25 (also female which makes them even more disrespectful) I’d had my own business since I was 19. Even though my business profile had pictures of me and my very obvious female name , I’d go to jobs and they’d ask me when the boss is coming . It was me . They chose me from that profile , spoke to me on the phone to arrange and still expected someone else. I also had a man be touchy and creepy so I stopped work. He later had his wife threaten court for leaving mid job, I had to tell her how creepy her husband was. She ignored me. Never paid me for materials. Older women also seemed to hate the fact that I did a physical /non traditional job.

wasn’t my own company but I lost business once and I was flat out told it’s because I was the youngest and they wanted someone with “more experience”. Got a call from them a few weeks later and an apology 😅🤷🏻♀️
