@kc_youmattertoo: Why do I care so much about mental health? Because behind every single one of those numbers is a person. Someone’s mom. Someone’s husband. Someone’s daughter. Someone’s brother. Someone’s best friend. Someone’s entire world. Because every day, people are silently fighting battles the people around them know nothing about. Because invisible pain is still pain. Because a smile doesn’t mean someone’s world isn’t crumbling around them. Because “I’m fine” doesn’t always mean I’m fine. Because sometimes the person who seems the strongest is using every ounce of strength they have just to make it through another day. And because I will never believe that talking about suicide puts the idea in someone’s head. I believe talking about it reminds someone who already has that thought in their head that they don’t have to carry it alone. That’s why I care. Check on your people. Ask the uncomfortable question. Say the thing out loud. Remind them they matter. Stay another day. 🤍 If you’re struggling, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. #suicideprevention #MentalHealthAwareness #suicidepreventionawareness
