The major tech corporations controlling our daily digital platforms and gaming networks hold far too much power while facing almost zero accountability for unfair or discriminatory practices against account holders. Because current consumer protection laws haven't kept pace with the digital age, these companies operate under broad terms of service that effectively shield them from real consequences. The current status quo leaves consumers with little recourse beyond class-action lawsuits that yield paltry $20 payouts—settlements that completely ignore the actual harm, distress, and pain and suffering caused by arbitrary account terminations and mistreatment. Until legislation imposes meaningful financial and regulatory consequences for unethical behavior, these corporations will have no real incentive to treat their user bases ethically or fairly.
