@shakelahteamtwins: So last night football game at Plainfield South High School; The school decided to segregate Joliet West High School from their students and vendors. We were told that we could not go buy food from the food trucks that were there and they had metal barricades and security to stop us from doing so. They said only their kids and parents were allowed to purchase from the 3 different food trucks that were there, but we could buy from there concession stand and the food/pizza they served us was cold and not kept at proper temp. Segregation at a public place is a violation of our Civil Right and needs to be stopped. At the end of the day this is a form of racism to children n their families. I’m asking that we bring attention to this because we deserve to be treated fairly. Let’s share this and bring attention and awareness to how these schools are treating our youth and trying to normalizing it.

They do this for every game and have been doing it for years. I graduated 10 years ago and these barricades were up then. This has nothing to do with race. It has to do with keeping fans separated to avoid conflicts.

I go to south and we only do that because fights, as an African American student you shouldn’t care about that and segregation is more so races and ethnicities split , but south is very mixed and yuh that’s all I gotta say

I currently go to north, they do that for EVERYONE, not just Joliet 😭it’s not like they fully separate us, it’s just the rules so people know where to go and stuff(don’t quote me I’m not confident on my words) it’s just so the school knows who’s students at north and who’s students at other schools
