The opening is fresh and aromatic, with a bright combination of lemon zest, bergamot and mint, together with artemisia adding a slightly herbal edge. It feels clean, fresh and energetic in the first few minutes without becoming a typical shower-gel freshie. As it develops, the fragrance becomes slightly sweeter and more aromatic. The pineapple adds a subtle fruity sweetness, while lavender and geranium start to come forward and give the fragrance more depth and character. The transition from the fresh citrus opening into the aromatic, slightly sweeter heart is really smooth. In the drydown, the fragrance settles into a refined aromatic woody character, with sandalwood adding a smooth, creamy warmth. Overall, it smells mature, classy and well-balanced. It also reminds me a little bit of Zenith Deep by French Avenue, although they are definitely not the same fragrance. It’s by no means a basic summer freshie or a juvenile shower-gel fragrance. Performance is very good overall. Projection is good and longevity is very good, especially considering the price. Like many Rayhaan fragrances, I feel they can benefit from some maceration, and they often become stronger and smoother with time. Personally, I really enjoy this one. I would definitely recommend it, and at around €25 for 100ml, I think it offers a lot for the money. It’s also versatile enough to wear throughout the year, which makes it an easy fragrance to reach for. Rayhaan really does a great job with affordable fragrances in the €20–€30 range. The bottle has a clean, sleek design with a solid presentation. I also really like the magnetic cap. Rayhaan seems to use a square-bottle concept across the collection, but each fragrance still has its own design. There is also a regular Nocturno, but that is a different fragrance from Nocturno Elixir.
