AI isn't dangerous at all, just generated text. What is dangerous, is the tools that prompt and then use that prompt in connection with actual real tools that can be dangerous. It looks like the AI did it, its actually just llm words like use tool x to do y... and the tools trust that

This analogy doesn't make sense. Is Google search powerful? Can it physically hurt you? no.
Normally I like your reasoning but this is a stretch.

Yes, exactly like that. AI is a dangerous tool. Tool. It's as dangerous as the people wielding it makes it. That's not what is being argued in most cases but the tech oligarchs that shape the discourse. They claim the excavator is alive and will kill you all on its own. (unless they maintain an effective monopoly on excavator rentals, of course.) That is all bs marketing and distraction.

You’re forgetting that AI requires human input. This is the first video of yours I’ve seen that I totally disagree with.

Jokes on you, I think it's powerful, I just don't know what the word dangerous means.

My computer is powerful, useful, and not dangerous. its not going to kill me. Yeah techincally someone can break into my house, pick up my computer and beat me to death with it, so yeah it can be USED to kill me, but thats true of pretty much any heavy object in my apartment. AI is not dangerous because its just a tool. it can be used to do damage but thats true of money, computers, pretty much everything

It’s a silly argument either way. Super AI is coming either way, China, North Korea, Russia or some other country will develop it soon by themselves. So the smart thing to do is develop it first and figure out how to do it safely. And the only way to do that is to actually develop it and figure out what it can do.

I absolutely think it's powerful. I absolutely do not think it will act on its own volition.

everyone has an opinion about AI but it seems very few people actually understand what it's capable of doing, even at this stage.

what false equivalences you give and more accurate equivalency if a computer is a computer dangerous no not by itself just like AI isn't dangerous the people controlling it are!

It's not the AI that concerns me, it's the humans that have access to use it. Humans are way more dangerous. Always have been.

There is some simple equivocation here. as a tool of course it can be dangerous. but it is not dangerous in the sense that it's going to wake up and decide to kill all humans one day. it's a potentially dangerous tool, not a self aware moral agent.

Or you're an algorithmic scientist & still dont think its dangerous. The people who use it can be dangerous, just like the people who control Nuclear weapons could be dangerous

Wouldn’t the first possibly dangerous thing be more centered around an even larger wealth disparity? The big US companies will get more efficient, make more profits, and way more people will be unemployed. Wouldn’t that spiral well before AI launches a nuke at someone?
