Interesting enough I tend to look for dirt as a way to normalise my own experiences where I was made to feel ashamed of a dirty home so I can get ocd. So when I go to others homes and I see a house lived in, it actually calms me… that it’s ok.

If you’re mean to any of my little pooches or feline friends, or they decide the first time they meet you that they just do not like you, I’m gonna take my cues from them. yeah I’m not gonna be rude during the visit or whatever but I will set you straight if you hurt my animals for sure but other than that, I’ll smile, but she won’t ever be invited back.

This one resonates with me deeply. I am having some strains in my relationship with my two teenagers. I already know that in order to improve it, the first thing I need to do is changing my perspective. I know it has to start with me because I keep finding faults in their behaviors. And yet it is so hard not to see "the dirt".
