I was a first responder then and that exact Starbucks wouldn’t even give bottled water to us, while we were digging for bodies. All the small businesses in the area gave whatever they could, but not Starbucks.

My mom once rented a car from enterprise. She had to return it on a Saturday. No one was in the office, her instructions were to park it in the lot and drop keys in the drop box. She did, and walked home. When she gets home, a bad storm hit. An EF 3 tornado forms, and destroys our house. Back at the enterprise lot, It also caused wind damage that made the enterprise sign fall onto the car. Enterprise charged my mom for the damage, because one of their agents hadn’t picked the keys from the drop box yet, they said they didn’t have control of the car and couldn’t verify if the storm caused the damage, or if my mother had caused the damage herself. Their own sign caused the damage. They had insurance… and yet they sued my mother. A woman who lost everything she owned in the storm. I refuse to rent from enterprise.

so by delancy street there was one bodega that was trying to price gouge water and one bodega that pulled up their basement hose to hose folks down who needed it....guess who was still in business a year later.

I was stuck in NYC that week, planes were grounded and needed to get home. Even after calling them and telling them the emergency situation, Bank of America would not allow me to access my money to buy a bus ticket home (bc of a $200 per day withdrawal limit or something?) and I will never ever forget that. switched to a credit union and never looked back

I haven’t been to Starbucks since I was pregnant - about to pop and I had a bathroom emergency and they refused to let me go without buying something. I said I would after I go and told them again it was an emergency and they made me wait in line- I couldn’t hold myself and I went and the lady manager who probably had kids herself scolded me in public like I did it on purpose . Disgusting and have not been back since - husband either
