Can you or have you explained the difference between probability fields and tactile/measurable fields. For example, photons can exist in large probability fields, there are mathematical equations that can explain its wave function but the probability field isn’t actually a literal area that a photon encompasses. How is this possible if it’s just an equation that describes the wave function when a photon/light is a real property of the universe. Further, this field collapses when the photon is captured or observed? I probably don’t fully understand what wave functions, probability fields fully means beyond a very narrow literal interpretation. I hope this question makes sense.

I've always been confused by how quantum physicists talk about observation. Taking it at face value seems to apply a very human and metaphysical concept of "observation" to what I would presume to be a "hard" science". If observation is not meant in the sense of the human metaphysical concept of gaining information, how is it meant and why is it not differentiated?

So does the laser move the atom back to its original position when it’s on? If it does then this seems relatively intuitive. If you allow an object to “roam” randomly and at regular time intervals you move it back to where it started, and the experiment ends when the object exceeds a certain distance from the starting point, it seems intuitive that shortening the period of time between resets would make it take longer to escape. Maybe I’m missing something but I don’t see how this is uniquely quantum? I could imagine doing the same thing with say a leaf floating on water, or (less ethically) with a bug trying to escape a circle on a table.

he's tied for my favorite philosopher because without him we wouldn't have quantum physics. and the arrow paradox is where Lorenz got the idea of the Lorenz factor and Einstein was inspired to create general relativity.

Is this sort of evidence for "collapse" models over Many Worlds? In Many Worlds, if each measurement produces a split, it should be that you have an equal chance of being in the reality where it did move, so the frequency of measurement should not affect the probability of movement -- or am I way off here?
