Domains would be the more accurate term since (even if you’re aware of the distinction) using the word bond will subconsciously confuse you plus electron pairs aren’t a bond. Think of “domain” literally as in its definition of area/territory. Every atom has a max possibility of four domains, just look at how many domains (lone pairs or atoms) are around it (left/right/up/dowm) and go from there. Also makes it easier to learn it this way for VSEPR
