our table numbers were anniversary cards with the number printed really big on the envelope. each person sitting at that table signed the card. now we open an anniversary card every year and read new messages from our wedding. this year will be table/anniversary 14! some of the messages are from people who are no longer with us and meant the world to me to have something written to us one last time.

Every guest had a secret task written under their nameplate. My favourite was at least 3 people had “be the last person to stop clapping after speeches” so it was just three grown men trying to outclap each other 😂

my centerpieces were cakes. each table could cut into it whenever they were ready for dessert. it was a huge hit!

Our guest book was a trash tv inspired confessional room with a camcorder. Loved all the stories and tea that our guests spilled! 📹

This may be common, I’m not sure. But instead of a bouquet toss we invited all the married couples to the dance floor and the DJ eliminated each couple, “if you’ve been married less than 2 hours leave the dance floor” lol so we left, then less than a year, 5 years, and on and on until the couple who had been married the longest was left. I gave her my bouquet. It was my aunt and uncle at 45 years I believe.

Had my wedding at a kids camp like with cabins and stuff. They rented the whole place out to us for the weekend so everyone who wanted to slept over. Didn’t have to worry about noise or ending the party. Had a bonfire that went on till like 4 in the morning. Been married for 6 years next week and people still tell me it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to 🩷

During the ceremony the officiant made an announcement saying the rings were hidden under two chairs so everyone had had look under their chairs and both grand dads had the rings and brought them up 🥺

I went to a wedding where the "favor" was a professional photographer stationed at the reception with a lovely backdrop, so everyone could get an awesome pic all dressed up. It was SO COOL to see everyone's pictures like a month later. A+ favor.

I got married 20 years ago but we had our photographer (the assistant to the main photographer) take a photo of everyone as they walked into the ceremony. Everyone is all dressed up and looking their best. We printed them and sent them out with the thank you cards. Everyone loved them and some people even said that it was the only professional photo that they have of themselves. Over the years, those photos have been used so much, too many as funeral photos. 😢

Went to a wedding where the brides father had passed away, so for the father daughter dance she asked everyone come to the dance floor and dance with her to her dad’s favorite song- Gold Digger. It was a great way to honor him and not be sad about the moment.

We had a tattoo station! Our sign said “we’ve made a lifelong commitment, you should (tat)too!” The tattoos were free to guests and they could choose from a flash sheet!

Idk but the bride had an assistant the whole night. Making sure she was eating and drinking (water and cocktails) and make up looked flawless, got her flats for her, fixed her dress on the spot when someone stepped on it and popped a bustle. Like insane level of making sure the bride did not need for anything. She even gave me nail glue when I broke my nail.

Fall wedding. Party favors were flower bulbs on the tables tagged with planting instructions so we could think of the bride & groom when the flowers bloom each year. That was 31-years ago and the flowers still bloom every spring.

My Nieces r.s.vp. had everyone request a song and that became the wedding Playlist. it was fun and I think more people engaged in dancing because they got to choose.

My son wanted his grandma to sign the wedding certificate…but she had dementia so he had her practice and she did great until it came to the certificate where she just scribbled loud and proud! She passed away a couple of weeks later but he was so excited to have her signature on his certificate!
