grandma died and I never cried, I felt bad and purposely tried to but couldn't, then I found the movie demolition and I heavily related to it because of that

Trauma will do that. I've already mourned people who are still alive

I disagree. People grieve differently.. and sometimes it hits later.

if its an expected death, you've already went through all the stages of grief before they actually pass.

It depends on how well you know them. My aunt died 3 years ago but I would only see her 2 times a year so I wasn’t very close to her and didn’t really feel much when she died

My grandmother died in December of 2025 in her 60s from cancer. I loved her very much but when she died, i reacted in a way i never expected. I just felt a mix of disbelief and numbness. It’s like my brain will not let me believe she is dead. It still doesn’t register to this day. I Think about her everyday yearning to see her one more time as I never got a chance to say goodbye properly as she was unconscious almost entirely when she was on hospice. The only time i genuinely cried was when I was driving home one night after visiting her at the hospice center. That was the worst time to cry too because I couldn’t see anything.

it may hit you randomly weeks, months, years later on a random Tuesday outing at like 3pm and for a second you feel off and that's it. not all grief is immediate.

it’s fine, it is normal. when my grandma passed i knew i was sad but i didn’t feel anything at the time and i would randomly breakdown crying multiple times without feeling any emotions. it gets better over time, you’ll feel more

My grandma passed too recently. I didn't cry because she died. I cried bc she wanted to see me and I didn't manage to go see her in time. She passed 5 minutes before I got to her house
