@abc7chicago: A huge waterspout formed off Italy’s picturesque Ligurian coast on Thursday, Sept. 10, adding to the spectacle for cruise passengers enjoying the Riviera. Garrett Pattiani recorded this footage showing the waterspout from his cruise boat. Pattiani told Storyful the water was too choppy for the passengers to be taken to shore. While they waited for things to calm down, the captain told the passengers that the waterspout was “a rare phenomenon” and that he called it a “marine twister.” “I was kind of nervous, but the crew didn’t seem too alarmed,” Pattiani told Storyful.
