I once ran through york train station with one minute until my train was leaving, ran up the stairs for platform 5, saw an LNER train to london, jumped on just before it left and it was in fact not the right train.

I had to run with my suitcase once bc the announcement board had been lying about what platform my train was on. No one else was running. Everyone was on the right platform. I’d checked the board 6 times over half an hour.

ok but what if instead of the train i used to get every day from the same platform at the same time I got on the wrong train and am unknowingly about to be shipped halfway across the country and get a huge fine for not having the right ticket. its made worse by the fact I did actually miss my stop once in the several hundred times I did that journey. im free of having to do this daily at least

When we filled out a diagnostic assessment form for ourselves in psychology class there was a question on if we would still buy a ticket for the train even if we knew we wouldn’t get checked. I said yes because my paranoia could never. So apparently that was a test question to see if people lie on the test because according to whoever made it no one would genuinely buy that ticket 😐

meanwhile the one time I did get on the wrong train and my ticket wasn't valid and i started panicking, the inspector was super chill and said it was clearly just a mistake, told me which train i needed to change to at the next station to get where i was actually trying to go, and wrote me a little note to give to the inspector on that train to ask them to let it slide and just help me get where I needed to go 😭

I got stuck in london because every train collectively cancelled so I decided to brave it the next day instead of buying an extra ticket and quickly realised i’m not made for that life and instantly bought a ticket in case someone came to execute me
