I could already picture myself in that white coat, talking about medicine like it was a path I was destined to take. But in the end, practicality mattered most, and I chose a different road. Still, the peace and fulfillment I feel when I’m walking through the hallways of a hospital, the giddy feeling when I hear medical terminology, and the spark in my eyes when I see science lessons and diagrams… nothing could ever compare. I chose a different path, and I’ve been doing well in it. I’ve grown, accomplished things I once only dreamed of, and learned to love the life I built along the way. But somehow, every road still finds its way back to that little part of me that never really stopped wondering, “What if?” To little me, who wanted to be a cardiologist, astronomer, dermatologist, anesthesiologist, forensic doctor, and somehow every other profession in the same field—maybe you’re not on that path right now, but the knowledge you longed for and the passion you carried will always stay with you. Maybe someday, we’ll find our way back. #TOTGA
