@everybody.ai: Scientists mapped an entire fruit fly brain — and people are already using that data to make a virtual fly play Beat Saber. 🪰🧠🎮 Researchers created a detailed map of the fruit fly’s nervous system, containing around 166,700 neurons and 125 million synaptic connections. Then developers started turning that scientific data into interactive simulations. One experiment connects a simulated nervous system to a virtual fly, allowing its neural activity to control movements while it plays Beat Saber in real time. And this isn't just one experiment. The same brain-map data is already being explored in projects involving Minecraft, Doom, Mario 64, and other virtual environments. What’s wild is how quickly this happened: years of neuroscience research produced the map, and soon after it became publicly available, people were already using it to build playable experiments. We’re basically watching neuroscience and AI collide in real time. 🧠⚡ 🤔 Cool, unsettling, or somehow both? 🎥 Credit: @lyraaaa 🔬 Research: Google Research 👉 Follow @everybody.ai for daily AI, technology, robotics & neuroscience updates. #AI #Neuroscience #BrainSimulation #BrainMapping #GoogleAI
