I was only allowed to drink pop on rare occasions. Guess what? Now I’m straight addicted to it. My daughter can drink whatever she wants and she will normally pick milk or water. Sometimes limiting treats or sweets backfires. 🤷🏼♀️

These comments are crazy. The level of entitlement I see from kids on a daily basis is because they are given it all, all of the time. Your kid doesn’t need a gas station treat every day. They can ride the bus and be fine. We quickly realized that by almost always saying yes to our oldest, she wasn’t appreciating what we were doing. This mentality of we all deserve everything all the time is what will slowly (or quickly) kill our society.

I could take my kids everyday and pick them up but they want to ride the bus 🤷🏼♀️I was always picked up and dropped off so it was weird to me that they want to actually ride the bus bc I was always embarrassed by the bus 😅 don’t ask me why cause idk I was a kid I guess is the only answer.

As a kid who took the bus everyday to school until I finished, I highly doubt the kids are “sad” about the bus lol. It’s not like it’s a punishment to take the bus it’s actually a very normal childhood experience that literally has no negative effects on you ( unless there’s bullying but that’s a totally different conversation) 😂

“This feels sad” meanwhile she goes all out for her kids. She makes a lot of homemade meals, drives her kids happily to all of their sports and extracurricular activities, makes meals for those events, runs a day care, maintains a healthy relationship with her kids and husband, makes fun treats, etc. God forbid her kids ride the bus, to take one small thing off her list. If her kids hated it, I’m sure she’d make changes. Yall just love to hate good mothers.

I totally agree with you. I feel like there is so much excess with kids these days. To many treats, to many gifts, too many toys, too many electronics. It's seems kids aren't excited about the simple/ small things anymore. Like something has been ruined for them by having everything. I also think the parents doing too much are doing it for themselves and the show of it.

I don’t get this mindset. I loved that my parents picked me up often & I love being the primary person to get my kids. These days fly by, enjoy them instead of making everything into a “treat”
