To this day, the twist at the end of Breaking Dawn was the best theater experience I’ve ever had. I was at the midnight showing on release night and my theater came absolutely unglued during that scene. Screaming, crying, everyone collectively saying “That wasn’t in the book!!”. It was such fun experience (after all was revealed of course).

love you for this. I think it’s been long enough to state: Twilight is a bonafide Camp Masterpiece™️and cultural marker. Seen all countless times and genuinely believe New Moon is the *best made* and best soundtrack but the first is iconic af. And oh boy the battle in BD2.

It changed my perspective as a teacher with new moon, because I always hated that book but I had a few students (teenagers) who confided in me that they loved it because it felt so accurate to how they felt after a break up, that adults belittle their emotions because they are so young and to get over it and you will find something better (which as an adult we know they will) but the book made their emotions feel very “heard” when they are in a dark place after a break up. Them telling me that always stuck with me.

I first watched Twilight in 2009. I thought it was so so so stupid. My friends pressured me to read the book to better understand. I finally picked up the book when my son was sick and I nothing else to do while sitting by his side for a week. I couldn’t put them down. I lost sleep, I forgot to eat, I lost weight. I could not put the books down. Devoured them in 6 days then started all over again. Im not sure how on gods green earth you like the movies better than the books. I still listen to the audiobooks from time to time for a bit of comfort listening.

THANK YOU for saying this about New Moon! 🌙💕 I think maybe you have to have experienced it to understand (?) but honestly, reading the book and just seeing the empty pages showing the months passing, it was something I’ve never experienced before and then the movie came and Kristen Stewart portrayed the nightmares that Bella had by giving us a performance that literally screams actual panic attacks. It hits me right in the heart every. single. time. Depression and anxiety is different for everyone but in my experience, that is it and every time I watch New Moon it reminds me of that. People can say whatever they want about her acting skills but that scream gives me the chills every time and I think her acting that part of the book out is exceptional!

What!? New Moon is my favorite. Because they bring Jacob forward as the third main character. And I am team Edward all the way. But like there's no twilight without understanding Bella and Jacob's connection and skipping it is missing a puzzle piece. It's sad, it's depressing but it's precisely what I love about it.

I remember being 14 and reading New Moon and not understanding why the pages with the months destroyed me, then I grew up and realized that I have felt that way many times before and I just didn’t know how to name it, that is why I’ll always love twilight
