1/What if Jeong-yo didn’t actually die and only lost his memory, the writers would be GENIUSES because the narrative symmetry would be insane.
The first time they met again, Jeong-yo asked Pi-oh, “You don’t remember me?” and Pi-oh coldly answered, “Who are you?” Now imagine the exact same scene happening again, but reversed: Pi-oh is finally reunited with Jeong-yo and is probably overjoyed, while Jeong-yo looks at him and asks, “Who are you?” THE PARALLEL?!
And then Pi-oh would become the one teaching Jeong-yo how to play piano again, just like Jeong-yo taught Pi-oh to play differently—to play with his heart. Jeong-yo helped Pi-oh rediscover the emotion and joy he had lost, and now Pi-oh would help Jeong-yo find his way back to music ans his memory through it. They would literally save, heal and help each other. The circle would be COMPLETE.
And the fact that Jeong-yo disappears exactly halfway through the series makes this theory even more meaningful. The first half was carried by Jeong-yo, who was always the one taking the first step and keeping their relationship alive. So if the second half becomes Pi-oh’s turn to take the lead, adapt, and fight to rebuild their connection, that would make their relationship feel even more intentional and beautifully balanced.
It wouldn’t just be a simple “one friend helps the other” storyline. It would show that they are both essential to each other’s growth—that they take turns saving, healing and changing one another. Their relationship is not one-sided. It is a beautiful cycle where, in the first half, Jeong-yo becomes Pi-oh’s light, and in the second half, Pi-oh becomes Jeong-yo’s.
And honestly, this would also fix something important in their relationship. I love Pi-oh, but let’s be honest: during the first five episodes, Jeong-yo is the one carrying their relationship. He’s always the one making the first move, adapting, compromising, trying to understand Pi-oh and refusing to let their bond fall apart. And that makes sense because we can thik that Jeong-yo is the one who fell first.
