California’s middle class is exhausted. We’re apparently “too rich” for help, but somehow rich enough to keep paying for everything. At this point, I don’t know who wants the same old, same old. We’ve watched taxpayer money tied up in hospice fraud investigations, billions poured into a high-speed rail project that still isn’t finished, and scandal after scandal where taxpayers are left asking, “Where did the money go?” Meanwhile groceries, gas, utilities and taxes keep climbing. They took a shitload of taxes from me—pardon my French—and I’m tired. Having to start over later in life after working and paying taxes for decades isn’t funny. If people are happy with the results, vote for more of the same. Me? I’m ready for accountability, common sense, and somebody who remembers that the working middle class has been carrying this bill for a very long time.
