patients these days are EXTREMELY RUDE AND ENTITLED. just because we are behind that desk doesn't give you the right to yell at us or be nasty. because I am that one front desk person who will give you your money's worth. when you do my job then you can speak about it!!

me personally i’m sweet w the sweet ones and mean to the mean ones. so if you ever hear a patient complaining abt my attitude, they started first. all in all, im just sick of them acting like they’re fresh out the womb it burns me out.

I work as a receptionist as well and i love my job but damn patients feel so entitled to everything they expect to be seen right away after they are late, ask me the same questions from same patients but i have a smile on my face even though inside of me i’m screaming

my place has had a massive increase behind cause a provider decided to dip and leave behind 800 freaking patients at least so now all 800 are calling in on top of everybody else and patients are complaining about the wait time. at this point I'm so over I practically tell them we're busy. like what's not comphrending

I work at 8 Dr orthopedic practice. It is very fast paced. Thank goodness I don’t have to answer the phone too. We have bad days and pts will say “you could smile”. Hello, you have no idea what I’ve been through today

At my clinic, As a medical receptionist, I set the tone. It’s my house. I run it with the rules and policies set by my clinic. I control the room. I am never rude. Our tone is everything.

Health care worker here! BSN . I started an a receptionist/ insurance clerk. Pretty much worked anything front office. Patients are sick, elderly, confused angry at the disease process. We can at least be kind and help them understand by providing an explanation so they can better understand the requirements. Let’s try to be empathetic.
