I lost most of my sense of smell with Covid. Can’t smell cigarettes or dog smell. I can still smell a cat box though. 🤷♀️

As their agent we absolutely need to tell the buyer if something will tank the sale. They need to have the opportunity to fix the issue before it becomes a problem.

whenever a homeowner has pets I always ask my photographer if he smells anything. If I smell it I always say something but I always ask for a 2nd option if I don't

I would want someone to tell me, even if I wasn't selling my house. Nose blindness can be real, especially if they don't keep up with washing pet bedding. Or if they have carpet.

Almost every agent in Sioux Falls must have avoided telling their clients this year. I swear, majority of the home we looked at smelled terrible due to cats. If it smelled bad, clearly there was going to be a huge investment to replace floors, clean hvac systems, etc. (but thankfully it led us to new build and I love it.)

Walked into the perfect house last year there was a bedroom with 5 pug dogs that were in kennels for the open house. The entire house smelled like pet urine. I asked the agent and she said the hardwood just need a deep clean and the windows open to air it out. The house sat on the market til they pulled it last month.
