@cinemaoccupy: A Korean-language monster movie just outsold Spider-Man in American theaters. Neon opened Na Hong-jin's 'Hope' in 1,560 US theaters on September 9, the widest domestic release for a Korean-language film since 'Parasite'. It took $1.1 million on day one and landed at number 2, pushing 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' to number 3. That is the biggest opening day any Korean film has recorded in North America. 'Hope' is Na's first feature since 'The Wailing' in 2016, and it competed for the Palme d'Or at Cannes. It has already passed $35 million in Korea.
