CATECHIST AFRANE A. BENJAMIN :
The Rosary according to the Catholic Church is Christo Centric, meaning, it is centered on Jesus Christ, how? Because, the essence of the Rosary is mainly, to meditate on the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. If so, how does Mary come in? Mary comes in for the fact that, She freely accepted, conceived and gave birth to Jesus for us and because God did not bring to us His son, Jesus but through Mary, Mary then becomes the intermediary between God and us, for the coming of Jesus, hence, Mary being the mediatrix of all grace, where Jesus Christ is the grace. Then, in the year 1214, The Blessed Virgin Mother Mary, as a reminder, through St. Dominic brought to us, meditation to the life, death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Therefore , whenever, a Catholic holds and pray the Rosary, supposedly, he either meditate, the life, the death, the resurrection or all, of Jesus Christ in order to learn His humility and because God deemed it right to bring Jesus through Mary, Mary then becomes an intercessor and so, we call on Her when meditating the mysteries of Jesus Christ, to pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. This is the essence of the Most Holy Rosary.
