I don’t think people are uncomfortable with the “oversexualization” of the photoshoot or of the actress, those were consensual and done on purpose. They are uncomfortable with the implied oversexualization of the sports industry. But you raised many great points here.

THANK YOU. I’m indifferent to it because I understand from a business point of view she is a prop. Her contract obviously stated that she needs to be naked. She didn’t go on the set and was like all right Let me take off my clothes. It’s obviously a problem of exploitation. And the problem about it is when you allow yourself to jobs to be exploited, you’re gonna get exploited for everything else. There’s so much politically going on in everything she does. Because it’s the things we see and the things we don’t.

I agree but she is also reinforcing it. It’s not about the fact that she is nude it’s that women in sports have constantly been judged about their body’s and what it looks like as opposed to what their body is capable of. She pushes the narrative that, that a body is all there is when it comes to women in sports. She has equity in this company so she as a woman had a part to play in the “creative” direction of this ad. Just because she is a woman, doesn’t mean she doesn’t get to be criticised in instances like this when she is has a part to play in discrediting everything women in sports have been fighting against the last 10-15years.

Thank you soooo much! The issue with the ad is the exploitation and objectification of a woman not the nudity or sexuality in themselves. I’ve seen people make it out to be bad because of her being naked and not what her being naked is conveying and the fact that it’s online sports betting!

I think it’s more about the way I the nudity is presented, it’s the utterly lack of artestry in the way she presented herself, the hole add is done not as a conversation but as a object to men, as a selling point. I think all bodies are beautiful but it should never be… a selling point of women. More so when talking about sports, where women are oversexualised and not taken seriously.

Thank you smmm. Loved this video also!! I would say that there is quite a decent amount of diversity within the corn industry specifically. I don’t believe that in itself is an issue. Always advocating for safer options as a whole bc it bridges out to the way we are all able to interact with one another through a sexual lens. A major issue seems to be the overall structures of capitalism, patriarchy, colonization as a whole. If we were to connect all of these regularly enough with the information we share may find ourselves being able to dismantle those systems while also eliminating our current systems of sex work as a whole which sounds pretty cool imo! I am in support of dismantling the current sex work industry as a whole rather than continual advocation for change/reform
