the >10% acceptance rates are what’s driving this. many students do not have time or opportunities to make a passion project with actual impact. wanting to work on yourself is not enough for top colleges

Bro I helped found a non-profit with my friend and the moment he got a college decision he took all of the stuff we had created and went AWOL. I had to explain to the refugees we were working with that I had to shut the initiative down because I literally didn’t have anything to help them with.

I genuinely hate this, like Yale, Harvard, MIT be out here fueling this mess…Admission Committee’s: “We pride our students of this incoming class starting global ngo’s, working with politicians, we even have a student who climbed Everest!” Like hiking Everest puts so many sherpas in danger, and many of these ngo’s they start end up dead on arrival when they arrive at their respective school. 😭

Fact of the matter is, getting a degree puts food on the table. It’s not optional or a side quest you just skip. Maybe more people would genuinely do non profit work if not getting a degree was less punishing

I came up with the perfect non profit for college admissions. You collect all the throw away non profits abandoned by everyone else just after college selections is over and you find new students to take them over. Boom, youre a college application genius. You're welcome.
