Pressing the seams open will definitely make it lay flatter, however doing it that way can cause the seams to open/wear out/split over time, especially if it’s a quilt that will be laundered often. Pressing both allowances to one side, usually the dark side, protects the stitched seam. If you want to go a step further, try to alternate which side you’ll press the allowance toward depending on the pieces that will be stitched together so that you can “nest” the seams. Keep going! 💜

Love it. It’s looking so nice 😍 Have you already cut all your fabric? If not, I do love some triangle paper to help them turn out the same size. I’m maybe like an “experienced beginner,” so possibly I’ll get better without it over time. Also, I like to press my seams open almost always ◡̈

I think open seams looks better too but I personally find it easier to nest the seams if I press them to the side. Your blocks are super pretty it’ll be gorgeous when it’s finished. Brace yourself for binding it’s a real test of patience 😂
