@lillyclaussen55: Having a disability is not “cool.” My conditions have changed and, in many ways, ruined my life. I am constantly in the hospital, which has made it to where I can't go to school anymore. I even spend my birthday in the hospital. It has prevented me from making any connections. The stigma surrounding sick and disabled people is disgusting, and it needs to stop. The number of women developing autoimmune issues and/or chronic illnesses after COVID deserves serious research and attention. Instead of constantly questioning whether sick or disabled people are “really” sick, we should be listening to them and raising awareness. The vast majority of posts about disabilities are made to share experiences and raise awareness. The number of people who fake illnesses or disabilities is extremely small, so we need to stop treating every single disabled or chronically ill person like they’re faking. #njtube #autoimmunedisease #disability #chronicillness #gastroparesis
