@travis.woo.trades: I’m personally not a huge fan of locking everything inside retirement accounts. Not because they’re bad. Because I value flexibility. If most of my wealth is in a regular brokerage account, I can potentially access liquidity without immediately selling the underlying assets. That matters if I need capital for: a property, taxes, a business opportunity, or something unexpected. Retirement accounts can offer major tax advantages, but they also come with rules, restrictions, and less flexibility before retirement age. For me, the question is not just: “How do I optimize for age 60?” It’s also: “How do I create financial freedom at 40, 45, and 50?” That doesn’t mean borrowing against investments is risk-free. Rates can rise. Markets can fall. And leverage can become dangerous quickly. So I don’t think there’s one universally better account. There are trade-offs.
