I had terribly painful plantar fasciitis and was working 40-60 hrs a week on my feet. A friend recommended Vionic shoes. Huge game changer. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Get a podiatrist to sign off on an ADA accommodation, your employer is required to accommodate.

alright girl i am not a PT but nearly 3 yrs i could not walk nor shower standing up now i can wear heels so buckle up this might be long. First, shoes are not the most important part but the insoles are. Our situation were different (did pt plus quit my job bv , ya know, couldn't walk more than 3 minutes without wanting to throw myself off the building but alas) i did PT for 4-6 months and the shock therapy was AMAZING. Back to insoles, I use these hard ones that have no give just full on arch support. LEUKO TAPE for when you need extra extra support (as i did for the first full year) place tape where the thumb (?) just starts all the way to 2 inchs up from your heel. This tape will transfer glue (RIP to my crocs) but can be changed every 2 days. I BEG PLS stretch from your HIPS to your TOES 3 x a day (did did for 2 yrs ik ik it is a lot) right before you get off bed, at lunch, then before bed. Ate anti inflamatory things (think golden milk) and reduse things that inflamed me (for ME lactose and too much sugar). NEXT on the list is KT tape when you need support but still want movement (Leukotape immobilize and KY allows movement). i was an athlete and not being able to move was devastating so for the last thing on the list *therapy*. Anyways, hope this helps diva

You can wear special shoes that are flat but have a good arch. Also wear compression socks. It’s never to early to start.

BROOKS!!! I am literally walking on a cloud girl. My plantar fasciitis has not been bothering me since I bought a pair a Brooks. They are expensive but absolutely worth every penny. I had a pair of Hokas before and I thought nothing would ever come close…. Wore my Hokas for 2 years!!! Then.. I found Brooks and I swear it’s been a game changer! Try it out ❤️

I work in hospitals. I have had PF so badly I had steroid injections. The only thing that ever helped me was to stretch my shins. Sit on the floor or even your bed and just sit on the tops of your feet. Tuck your feet under your butt and stretch the front of your legs. It clears mine up every time I even feel a twinge. Doesn’t take but a day or so of stretching them.

Back in the day all the cool nurses wore Dansko. There is a proof of getting used to them, but once I was acclimated my feet have never felt so good. The only downside is that the soles are wooden so you can't feel the floor. Having completely obliterated my ankle i don't have very good balance anymore so I need to feel where I'm walking. But when I wore those suckers I have worked for 24 straight hours and my feet were the only thing that didn't hurt

Absolutely go to the dr. and have them sign off on an ADA request. Miserable feet in retail is THE WORST.

Sketchers has a 'max cushioning' line I swear by. If you've ever stood on those anti fatige mats they use in warehouses, its like walking on one of those all day.

My mom has plantar fasciitis, was a server for 20 years and now owns a retail business. Danskos and Vionics are all she’ll wear. The Vionics are wayyyy cuter, but I see Danskos more often in stores.

I have very advanced osteoarthritis and New Balance 9060’s are my go to and the only shoe I’ve ever owned that had enough bounce in them to not hurt my knees and hips

I genuinely found a pair of "good day" flats with interchangeable insoles at goodwill one day and my flat hobbit footed behind with inverted knee caps NEVER went back. same shoe, 4 pairs of soles and different levels of support over 2 years.

Girl, take it from someone who worked years of retail that resulted in ankle surgeries, get a doctor’s note and wear good shoes. At one point I was in an ankle boot and my job still expected me to wear a “dress shoe” on the other foot. Fuck them dude, take care of your feet!

You need to build the muscles in your arch, not just stretch them! I had pf 15 years ago until I found an exercise in a European scientific paper, it’s stupid they don’t teach it here, maybe because it works. Look up the “short foot” exercise. I turned it into a stim and did reps continuously any time I was sitting. Pain was gone in 3 days. Anytime I get a little twinge I just start doing reps again and it helps.

Look up spenco max arch support inserts on amazon. Used to work for a podiatrist and he recommended these for patients with PF. They may help until you can find supportive shoes.

this is what happens when you don't take proper care of your feet. I'm 62, I waited tables, worked retail, and did other work that was hard on my feet. I've been in these splints for a year and a half, and my doctor is recommending surgery, which I can't afford. Get the doctor's note, get some good supportive shoes. your feet will thank you, both now and later
