I felt this so hard for so long and I can’t believe how many invalidating comments there are. Humans are meant to connect with each other, why is wanting that so wrong? I did finally find my person last year,but god, I hated having to listen to the ‘you don’t want one!’, ‘it’ll happen when you least expect it’ ‘work on yourself ’ crowd SO much. They don’t understand how much love you have pour into yourself to get to be a person who is a good, healthy partner for someone while single. A happy relationship is a group project and you’ve already done your part, you deserve the experience you’re dreaming of.

I used to be in your position. And I would say the same thing you are saying about "focus on yourself" and that doesn't erase the strong desire to be in a relationship. You are not focusing on yourself in a way that lets you understand that you need to be complete within yourself before you date. That strong desire to be in a relationship means you are not focusing on yourself. A person should feel complete without anyone else so that strong desire you have comes from a place that you feel you need someone else to complete you.
